So I started a blog! If you have been a regular reader of FyF, then you must have known that a few months back the site was down for about a week as I switched hosts from One.com to Dreamhost. The reason I wanted to do that was so I could start a FyF Blog. And one.com does not deem it fit to allow more than one databases to it’s customers.

Dear owners of One.com: God has a special place for people like you, and there are no fluffy clouds there, no angels playing harps and no virgins for sure. You allowed my site to be down for a week, while I lost precious loose change from Google ads and my search engine rankings dwindled. Oh, there will be much hand wringing and gnashing of teeth when you get your just rewards.

So anyway, I started a blog to go along with Fly You Fools comics. The occasional blog posts in between the comics was starting to get weird. And no one really likes to go through a wall of text when he’s browsing though comics.

The main site will only have comics, the blog will have all the competitions and other mindless ramblings of a whatever.

If you are subscribed to FYF, then you need to subscribe to this blog separately. Do subscribe, or you’ll miss out the cool competitions and shit.

This is only funny if you speak Hindi. 11th April was Hindi day on Twitter, and many people were Tweeting in Hindi. I asked people to translate ROFLMAO in Hindi (Contains Hindi gaalis – Which I think is a good thing BTW)

If you’re from India, it’ll show you the ad if that ad is willing to pay the highest bid for that space. It’s a bit more complicated than that. Usually the more vague the keyword, the higher the price.

“India” would be a very expensive keyword, so is “jokes, comedy, sms, ringtones” etc etc. I know because I tried advertising on Google Adsense last year, and quickly stopped once I started loosing Rs 10 or more everytime someone clicked on a FyF ad. And ten Rupees was for obscure keywords like “indian webcomics, webcomics” etc. The popular ones go upto Rs 100 or more.

Rs 10 may not be much for most commercial websites, but for me that’s the price of 2 cigarettes! No way!

First off, a disclaimer: I’m totally in support of all political parties advertising on Google ads. After all it’s publishers like us that benefit, and here’s proof I support both sides
